A day in Kinsale

Kinsale, a town in County Cork, Ireland, which is located about 25km south of Cork City.

I paid a visit to Kinsale town together with Jolyn and Xinyi when they came to visit me in Cork in mid December. The main thing that brought us there was to try out the well-known seafood restaurant in the town.

- Kinsale, Cork -

The bus journey took about 45 minutes from Cork City to Kinsale. We reached around 10am,and because it was a Sunday, the town was so peaceful that u barely see anyone walking on the streets. The shops were still closed, with a sign "open at 2.oopm" hanging on the door. How relaxing the locals' life are.....

We walked down a few streets in town, successfully found some shops which were opened for visitors. I fell in love with a shop in which I found loads of ancient treasures, i.e ancient yo yo, ancient funnel etc etc. I feel like getting everything from the shop but I ended up only buying 2 of treasures for myself.

Seafood in Kinsale is well known among our Malaysian gang in Cork, in particular, this restaurant named Fishy Fishy. It was the reason we went to Kinsale in fact, and thank God it did not let us down.

The starter itself was wonderful. Brown bread and white bread were served with butter and a special cream. We had 2 plates of starter and finished all of them.

Xinyi ordered seafood chowder and oyster. She had both her thumbs up with her food :)

Jolyn had fish pie. The pie was baked with salmon and some other fish. She didn't manage to finish her dish because she loved the bread more than her dish. So she ended up eating more bread than fish..

I ordered monk fish. Didn't know how monk fish looked like until I googled it just a minute ago. I loved my dish as well. The fish was served with mushroom risotto in cream sauce. Monk fish is definitely one of my favourite fish now :)

We had a great experience with this restaurant in overall, and before we left we each received a seashell as souvenir from the waiter. Probably it was a special treats from the house for being the 1st customers on that day :D

We did took a couple of good photos in Kinsale town too.. Particularly love these 2 photos..

Love to be together with them....I know by heart, that our friendship grows as we grow up, and it is still growing strong... :)
