Hello! I've got back home finally after being a refugee for one week =D
While I was cleaning up the messy kitchen, I saw something interesting. Apparently my housemate (don't know which one) wrote a big note on a board, then placed the board at the window, as below..
HA. I did really laugh out loud. This was how they asked for help! Haha. Aren't they cute? =P
And yeah, no more flooding now. The weather has been very nice these few days, what I mean is,no rains and less windy.
Anyway, a big welcome to the WINTER! Woooo~~ The temperature drops drastically this few days compared to the last week. This was the temperature at 12 noon today.
Yepz! Cloudy day with only 1'c! But it doesn't stop us to do our shopping in town! And I insisted to take a photo of us to declare our first ever winter day in Eire! =D
I love winter time, maybe because of the joyful atmosphere everywhere. Christmas songs and deco are set up, and hence everything seems to be so delightful at this festive season. Maybe a mild snow flakes will contribute some romantic-ness to the surrounding too! Hoho.
I'm getting tempted to the Christmas deco too. I've got myself my first ever big/cute/charming red sock!
Tada! Here it is..
I'm hanging it on my door and hopefully Santa will drop me a present on the Christmas =P
OK after talking so much, I realised it is now still November. HA. Who cares as long as I'm happy =)
Looking forward the month of December, as KYYing said, "I LOVE DECEMBER!" cause I'm as well a Dec baby xD Also, I can meet up my ji muis & buddies in Dublin & London soon! ^^
Welcome Winter
Update
First and foremost, my dear family and friends, we are all safe in the seniors house now. No worries k =)
So what happened on Friday was... After I finished blogging the previous post, the person in charge from Castlewhite came to every apartments and said "We are now evacuating everyone from the building so please pack your things and get ready in 5 minutes!". I was totally blur that time - I should have think of this earlier and start packing the night before when it was flooding. Stupid me. So I rushed to Gaya's bed and woke her up and we both started packing. The 3 important things that get into my bag were the purse phone and key(LLY, see I've set this in my mind! =D). And then I remembered my passport, so as well I grabbed my passport with me. And I thought I'm done with packing, but then since my bag pack still has spaces so I grabbed some clothes, and not forgetting some biscuits! HA. These were the things I can think of when I've to run for my life.
Until I went down the apartment I saw somebody else was with big luggage, then only I got to know that we may not be able to come back to the apartment for some time. So, OMG again. How am I going to survive with only these few things. Since we were short of time, I rushed back my room and only managed to get my phone charger which is another important thing that I left behind. Sigh.
We waited for our turn to be shifted out from Castlewhite at downstairs. We started to get excited when we saw that they actually use a truck to carry us away from the flooded area. HA. First time ever in my life wei! Here is some photos taken while waiting..

And so we gathered at the main restaurant in UCC. Apparently about 2000 students were evacuated from the UCC student accommodations (Victoria Lodge,University Hall, Castlewhite). We were provided with breakfast. Also, arrangement for temporary accommodation was done by UCC for the affected students. The local students were organised to travel home, while the homeless students were arranged to stay in apartments in the suburbs. The person in charge did show their efficiency. =)
Whereas for us, we called up our seniors for help and we really really appreciate their kind help especially at this helpless moment. Luckily we still have a house to run to during emergency. *hugsss*
And yeah, an important thing to take note: never ever run without your money! Since we weren't managed to get most of our stuffs along, so we have to pick up some essential stuffs from Tesco.
Albeit becoming refugees, we didn't treat ourselves badly. Haha. Actually it is because we were too tired and so we decided to settle our dinner by eating out. So we ended up in Wilton Willow, a Chinese Restaurant in Wilton (the place we are currently staying).
Surprisingly, we finished all the dishes although they were really really in big portion. This morning I decided to go back Castlewhite to take some other stuffs such as laptop and text books. For your information we were informed that we might have to stay outside for a week or more until further notice. Lectures and tutorials in UCC are off for a week due to severe damage of the teaching materials as well as the departments offices. But the bad news is our term date is extended for a week, means we will only have 2 weeks left for the Christmas break instead of 3 weeks as scheduled earlier. Geez....
Back to this morning in Castlewhite. Water has subsided yet the surrounding is still muddy messy yucky.
Cleaning is in the progress especially the first floor which was submerged in few inches of flood water.
Hopefully we can get back to our apartment as soon as possible. Life is really unpredictable. We always read the news how serious were the flood in Terrenganu and Kelantan, and I never expect I'll face the same thing one day, furthermore it happens at a place where I'm so far away from my family. So yeah, how to deal with such unprecedented situation is another thing I learnt from this experience.
Best wishes. May God bless.
FLOOD
NOTICE – INCREASED RISK OF FLOODING
We have just been informed, by the Buildings Officer, that the Inniscarra Dam will be releasing significantly more water than usual today. As a result there is an increased risk of flooding in low lying areas adjacent to the river Lee.
All responsible persons are asked to carefully consider the implications of this for their own areas and take any necessary appropriate action.
Well, when we chose to ignore the notice, we were really really wrong. Aiks. No one expects that the storm yesterday will eventually abandon Corcaigh (Cork) under water.
The water level started to rise last night until it reached above the knee length of the Irish guy.
Which means, if I walk outside I would have sunk in the water! Or I should just say I'll have to swim if I wanna go out from my apartment. HA.
The 1st floor residences had been evacuated last night. Fortunately, I'm now very safe on the 3rd floor of my apartment in spite of the possibility of having no water supply for the next few days. The water pumps in certain areas have been turned off to prevent contamination by flood water.
And this is actually the worst flooding in the country in the last 10 years. How lucky we are to experience this saga moment =P
May God bless.
Weather talk again
I.HATE.RAIN. A statement from Sue on her personal message. Clear and straight forward. If there's no rain that is not Ireland. Yet to me, the wind might be more terrifying than the rain. And the best is when both the rain and wind come together, just like what we had this morning.
Dang, my umbrella was beaten by the wind this morning after the tough battle.
Mourn for you =(
thoughts
It was my second dental material lab session yesterday. We learned to make impression for this session.
I remembered last time when I was in the dental clinic for the job attachment, I can only see the nurse mix these thingy. But this time is me my turn to do it =)

Anyway I just realised it's already mid Nov now. Time goes by real fast. The 1st semester gonna end soon. Wow. Anatomy assessment is coming up in a week time. Hmm.. ... nothing much to write.
